Sarah Wright is a Colorado Dental Hygienist with over 25 years' experience in dentistry. Her passion has always revolved around the oral-systemic connection. She is part of a team of four independent hygienists working under the same roof in a community health setting. Her team practices Guided Biofilm Therapy, is laser certified, and uses microscopy and microbial testing as foundations for their periodontal therapy program. In 2016, Sarah incorporated her passion for the oral-systemic connection into her periodontal treatment protocols by adding salivary diagnostics, focusing on the bacteria rather than solely calculus, and saw patients able to send their disease into remission, blood sugars controlled, and even reduce their prescription medications. While in pediatrics, Sarah introduced microbial testing to children and teens, teaching them purposeful self-care and potentially avoid systemic disease as adults. Since then, she has added phase contrast microscopy and Guided Biofilm Therapy to her clinical practice. She is a Swiss Dental Academy Trainer as well as part of a team of six GBT Success Coaches, assisting practices nationwide as they integrate the Guided Biofilm Therapy Standard of Care. Sarah participates as a speaker at the annual Boots, Bugs & Biofilm meeting in Nashville with two of her mentors.
